MAKER STORY:
Did you know the furnaces at Kosta glassworks have been lit since 1742? Nearly 300 years ago, the Swedish-born company grew deep in the forests in Småland, making fine utility glassware for the first 150 years. Bottles, glassware, window panes, chandeliers and other useful items were among the wares sold to merchants in Stockholm and Karlskrona. The company eventually grew to employ its own designers, including Gunnar G:son Wennerberg, who joined the company in 1898. Many well-known artists have worked there since then, such as Sven X-et Ericsson and Ewald Dahlskog. Today, Kosta Boda, offers inspiring art glass and contemporary interior design objects derived from Swedish design tradition. Targeting modern lifestyle, the progressive assortment delivers premium products integral to everyday use.
